After the big launch of Nintendo’s Switch in March many video game addicts have visited their popular gaming stores to have this unique innovation that has set the bar higher for some of the giants in the video gaming industry.

With many gamers demanding much information about this unique console/handheld hybrid, we recently compiled some of the top things you need to know about it. We took you through the features as we focused on answering important questions that most we had received about the console.

Because it doesn’t come with any games, many people have written to me seeking to know more about available games that they need to buy either at Nintendo digital eShop or retail.

From the time I got my shiny new Nintendo switch, I’ve been trying to keep-up the pace and today I managed to compile a list of the games I’ve managed to play on this device.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This is the Switch’s most famous game and the first I ever played on my Switch.

It’s an adventure game that presents different open-air styles that overcome boundaries while honoring the origins of the much-admired series. Players explore a world of exceptional size and discover several puzzle-filled shrines, and different types of weapon, and outfits.

You’re required to climb up mountain peaks and towers in search of destinations, then discover your own path as you continue to conquer the wilderness as you battle towering enemies, gather ingredients for food and hunt down wild beasts.

According to Nintendo:

“Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration, and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across vast fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule In this stunning Open-Air Adventure. Now on Nintendo Switch, your journey is freer and more open than ever. Take your system anywhere, and adventure as Link any way you like.”

2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Just like ‘The Legend of Zelda’, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is another showpiece for what the Nintendo Switch can do. The game was released on the 28th of April, and I managed to grab early enough because I’m a die-hard fan of the Mario Kart series.

Mark Kart 8 Dexule is a racing games and the first enhanced port of the original Mario Kart games that features additional power-ups, comprising of a reworked Battle Mode, five additional playable characters, the reintroduction Feather and Boo in Battle Mode.

Simply race with your friends or battle then in the revised battle mode.

According to Nintendo:

“Hit the road with the definitive version of Mario Kart 8 and play anytime, anywhere! Race your friends or battle them in a revised battle mode on new and returning battle courses. Play locally in up to 4-player multiplayer in 1080p while playing in TV Mode. Every track from the Wii U version, including DLC, makes a glorious return. Plus, the Inklings appear as all-new guest characters, along with returning favorites, such as King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr.!”

3. 1-2 Switch

1-2 Switch is a 28-strong collection of minute-long multiplayer games that can be played at parties. Players can easily engage in this assortment of minigames by making good use of the unique capabilities if the system’s Joy-Con controllers.

Although a couple of friends find it entertaining as other term it as the most innovative game Nintendo has produced in years, personally I just don’t like the whole idea around the game. I see it as a best fit for kids who need something run around with.

I think Nintendo came up with this game just to show us how we can discover the tech packed into the Switch’s tiny Joy-Con.

According to the developers:

“Throw an impromptu party anywhere with anyone thanks to a new play style in which players look at each other—not the screen! Bring the action and fun into the real world as you face off in wild-west duels, cow-milking competitions, a copycat dance-off, and more. Each game takes advantage of the Joy-Con controller features of the Nintendo Switch system in different ways. While the action unfolds off- screen, the audience watches the players themselves instead of the screen. That makes it as hilarious to watch as it is to play – an instant party amplifier!”

4. Snipperclips.

After my first gameplay on Snipperclips, I came to appreciate that Snipperclips is clearly Nintendo’s favorite from its initial batch of indie games.

The game is co-op focused puzzle (two-player) where you cut out bits of your friend to model them into items you can use to solve several puzzles.

According to the developers:

“In this action-puzzle game, paper pals Snip and Clip must cut each other up to overcome tricky obstacles…or just to laugh their heads off (sometimes literally). Partner up with friends or family to cut the heroes into the right shapes, interact with objects, and solve a world of imaginative puzzles.”

5. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove

Source: is a collection comprisong of the excellent Shovel Knight and every latest expansion, including the brand new Specter of Torment and the upcoming King Knight expansion

This game contains the popular Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope that was originally released in 2014 for the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Windows and later on other platforms too, together with its expansion Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows, with the latest expansion Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment

According to the developers:

“Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is the full and complete edition of Shovel Knight, a sweeping classic action adventure game series with awesome gameplay, memorable characters, and an 8-bit retro aesthetic! Become Shovel Knight, wielder of the Shovel Blade, as he runs, jumps, and battles in a quest for his lost beloved. Take down the nefarious knights of the Order of No Quarter and their menacing leader, The Enchantress.”

Through my gaming experiences on Nintendo Switch, I’ve come to appreciate that this latest console/handheld hybrid is always more than what I thought it was. I actually have no vocabularies to describe the exciting gaming experience on this device.

The developers have really managed to tap into in the rising mobile gaming platform that has had everything to do with the increasing popularity of tablets and smartphones for incredible gaming and the unending love for consoles.

I do appreciate how Nintendo has diligently paid attention to these trends in the modern gaming industry, to come up with such a unique solution.

Mobile gaming has failed paid enough attention on active multiplayer experiences, but with Nintendo Switch, every gamer can expect to unique experiences with every game slimmed down to ensure everyone can play.
